Vision
Bringing HOPE To Relationships
Mission
We enable people to effectively manage personal, marital, family and organisational challenges and conflicts through the integrative and holistic approach of PeaceP.A.C.T (Programmes, Activities, Counselling & Mediation, and Training)
Introduction
EMCC (Eagles Mediation & Counselling Centre) is a not-for-profit organisation that is committed towards enabling people to lead better lives through its range of services.
Established in 1997 to provide counselling and mediation services to the community, EMCC is today a full member of the National Council of Social Service (NCSS) and an approved Institution of Public Character (IPC). One of the region’s foremost organisations that pioneered family mediation and training, it has been appointed to provide specialised mediation service at the Tribunal for Maintenance of Parents and the Family Court. EMCC is one of the few agencies in the region with expertise to provide integrative services in mediation and psychotherapy.
For the last 10 years, EMCC has endeavoured to be true to its vision – bringing hope to broken relationships through its counselling and mediation services. Having witnessed transformed lives, restored relationships and individuals who bounced back from setbacks through our programmes over a decade, EMCC is ever more committed towards its mission of helping people break out from a life of relationship struggles that breeds hopelessness, pessimism, depression and powerlessness by enabling them to effectively manage their interpersonal relationship challenges in the home, school, workplace and the community.
Hence, in addition to developing and enhancing its counselling and therapy capabilities, EMCC has also been developing upstream initiatives towards prevention and early detection of psycho-emotional and relational problems, as well as empowering individuals through imparting and equipping of knowledge and lifestyle or self-help skills. Examples of upstream initiatives include public education activities (public talks and radio programmes), training courses, publications, etc, with the aim of developing stronger psycho-emotional individuals who love life, enjoy work and have correspondingly healthy and meaningful relationships.
Ignited with a greater passion for peacemaking since the mid 2000s, EMCC recognises the increasing significance of proactively fostering positive psycho-emotional well-being through peacemaking – the key to relational wellness. EMCC thus formulated the strategic PeaceP.A.C.T – its holistic platform that supports the full spectrum of EMCC service offerings and enables the practice of an integrative approach of counselling, mediation and upstream initiatives to foster psycho-emotional and relational wellness.
EMCC is funded through public donations and is given the privilege to issue double tax exempt to our donors. It also receives project funding from NCSS.
