FAQ
What is EMCC’s Approach?
Mediation at EMCC is interest-based and people-centred. EMCC offers highly qualified mediators experienced in family, community, and commercial disputes who can assist parties in a dispute to resolve their differences amicably.
Mediation at EMCC is conducted within an atmosphere of utmost confidentiality. We offer a discreet dispute resolution process that respects each party’s rights and autonomy.
We respect each person's belief system and spiritual experiences. Mediation at EMCC is secular, unless individual parties choose to rely on their belief systems and religions. In such situations, EMCC will help parties to use them as resources for dealing with their problems.
What to Expect?
When you first call the Centre at +65 67888220, the Intake Administrator will arrange an appointment for you, your fellow disputant and the mediator.
When you and your fellow disputant arrive at the Centre for your first visit, you will each be requested to complete a simple form. This provides important information to the Centre about yourselves and the background to your dispute. This document is maintained with utmost confidentiality.
When you and your fellow disputant first meet with a mediator, your mediator will explain the mediation process. At this point you may feel free to ask any questions that you wish. The length of mediation and the number of sessions depends on the complexity of the dispute and the readiness of the parties to settle.
